The aim of the Advance Resuscitation Techniques (ART) course is to develop skills and knowledge to manage life-threatening external bleeding, use oxygen, airway management devices and automated external defibrillators during resuscitation, and to administer oxygen to conscious or unconscious victims.
SLS MEMBERS ONLY – Bronze Medallion
The Bronze Medallion / Certificate II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue) (PUA20119) course provides participants with the skills and knowledge of basic surf awareness in order to be able to participate in lifesaving operations. The course covers all aspects of Lifesaving including rescues‚ the provision of first aid‚ spinal management, radio communication and beach management.
This is a core award to be a surf lifesaver in Australia.
Surf Life Saving SA recommends that participants complete a proficiency for their Bronze Medallion annually.

The 'in-house' CPR is an assessment only course arranged between the Club's Cheif Instructor and existing SLSSA members who wish to be awarded a Statement of Attainment for HLTAID009 Provide CPR.

The aim of this course is to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to effectively crew an Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) in rescue operations.

The aim of the JRB crew course is to give participants the skill and knowledge to crew on SLSSA's Jet Rescue Boat
SLS MEMBERS ONLY – Radio Operator Certificate
The purpose of this Radio Operators Certificate course is to help the participant develop skills and knowledge to effectively operate communications systems and equipment in their local lifesaving environment. The award is designed for members who are either working towards obtaining their Certificate II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue) or members who wish to contribute to radio operations in their local surf lifesaving clubs without completing the full qualification.

The purpose of this course is to help you develop skills and knowledge to safely and effectively drive a Rescue Water Craft (RWC)
SLS MEMBERS ONLY – Resuscitation
The aim of the Resuscitation course is to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation to an adult, child or infant. The course content is based on the policies and standards of the Australian Resuscitation Council.

The aim of the Silver Medallion Aquatic Rescue course is to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to participate in search and rescue operations.

The aim of this course is to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to effectively drive and manage an Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) in rescue operations.
SLS MEMBERS ONLY – Surf Rescue Certificate
The aim of this course is to provide participants with skills and knowledge related to surf awareness‚ aquatic rescue operations, communication systems and equipment and resuscitation. It is recommended for SLS members who wish to:
• perform in the role of SLS water safety personnel
• take on a lifesaving cadetship and join a lifesaving patrol
