Advanced Resuscitation Techniques [AID]

ART

The aim of the Advance Resuscitation Techniques (ART) course is to provide participants with the skills, knowledge and application of oxygen, airway management devices, suction and automated external defibrillators during resuscitation.

Your ART Certificate is valid for 1 year.

 

Certificate II Public Safety

Bronze

The aim of the Bronze Medallion / Certificate II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue) course is to provide participants with the knowledge of basic patrolling and surf awareness in order to be able to participate in lifesaving operations.

 

Community Surf Rescue Certificate

SRC

The Surf Rescue Certificate is a flexible course that is offered by Surf Life Saving Clubs to their junior lifesavers and can be tailored for a school program. The aim of the course is to provide participants with the knowledge of basic surf awareness in order to be able to participate in lifesaving operations. This course is also the minimum water safety qualification for Junior Activity supervision. ​

This is NOT suitable for Surf Lifesaving SA/NT Members as they need a patrolling specific Surf Rescue Certificate.

The Surf Rescue Certificate is a flexible course that is offered by Surf Life Saving Clubs to their junior lifesavers and can be tailored for a school program. The Lifesaving Pool Award aims to teach emergency rescue techniques, swimming and survival skills, basic spinal management techniques and Cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Pool Lifeguard

PLG

The Pool Lifeguard Skill Set (SISSS00111) course aims to teach you emergency rescue techniques, swimming skills and basic spinal management techniques as well as the finer points of pool lifeguarding. Candidates of this program will receive comprehensive training in aquatic emergency care, emergency management, oxygen resuscitation and pool surveillance. 
 

Pool Lifeguard Re-qualification

PLGR

The Pool Lifeguard Skill Set (SISSS00111) must be updated annually if used as a professional qualification.

Provide Basic Emergency Life Support

BELS

This unit will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to recognise and respond to life-threatening emergencies, including managing the unconscious casualty, performing CPR, controlling bleeding and managing other life threatening situations. It is suitable to both people in workplaces and members of the public who want to be able to manage an emergency first aid situation.

HLTAID002 Provide Basic Emergency certificate is valid for three (3) years from the completion date.  (HLTAID001 Provide CPR renewal required annually).

PFA

Learn First Aid from the lifesaving expert, Surf Life Saving SA/NT. We offer public First Aid, 1 day courses that will give participants vital lifesaving skills. Provide First Aid In Remote Situations

REMOTE

The aim of this course is to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to provide first aid response and emergency life support to a casualty in a remote and/or isolated situation.The unit applies to workers who may be required to prepare for and provide a first aid response in locations beyond the reach of timely medical assistance.
