Introduction:

This course has been designed for those who prefer to complete ‘self-paced’ CPR theory online (approximately 30-45 minutes), followed by a shorter face to face assessment session (1.5 hours).

The CPR course delivers the essential principals‚ knowledge and skills to maintain breathing and circulation in emergency situations for adults, children and infants. Participants will learn vital lifesaving skills and the confidence and knowledge to maintain basic life support in a person who is in cardiac arrest until help arrives.

You could help save the life of a co-worker or someone close to you one day and become a real lifesaver.
All Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation eLearning modules have been designed to cater for multiple learning styles. You can either read the body of text, watch videos, listen to voice overs or combine these learning styles.

HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation CPR is a Nationally Accredited course.

Target Audience:

This unit applies to all people who may require to provide CPR‚ in a range of situations.

Participants must be a minimum age of 10 years on the date of final assessment.

Students with any special needs are requested to contact us prior to registering for a course to discuss suitable arrangements.

Demonstration of Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation procedures – Participants will demonstrate Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation on training manikins – adult, child and infant – in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.

To meet the unit of competency, the participant needs to demonstrate at least two (2) minutes of CPR on an adult and infant manikin on the floor.

Please note as of 1st September 2022 the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) have advised Registered Training Organisations that training and assessment activities undertaken during First Aid and CPR courses will revert to pre-COVID conditions. This means learners will be required to demonstrate rescue breathing techniques on manikins and not simulate such skills to the side of the manikin as previously allowed during the pandemic.  Learners will not have the opportunity to request an exemption from providing rescue breaths if they wish to gain a competent result in the Unit of Competency and/or qualification.
