Candidates will be taught and assessed on performing rescues‚ identifying dangers, signals and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). There will be timed swim required to complete this course. The Community Pool Rescue Certificate is required to supervise children around open water aquatic activities. This certificate needs to be updated every 12 months by completing the Community Pool Rescue Certificate Update course.

- Be at least 13 years of age on the date of final assessment

Assessment
Participants will be assessed individually and in group activities. Assessment is through demonstration, presentation and application of all elements of competency in the workplace. Participants will be required to complete activities that may include role-plays, oral and written questioning, practical demonstrations and performing scenarios.
Participants must also be able to complete the following physical elements:

- Complete five (5) successful rounds of CPR on an adult manikin on the floor.
- Complete five (5) successful rounds of CPR on an infant manikin on a firm surface.
- Perform rescues with and without equipment.
