The Outback First Aid is an information session only that will prepare participants to manage injuries and illness associated with outdoor activities. On completion of this awareness session participants will have the knowledge to render basic first aid in a range of common outdoor injuries, illnesses and emergencies.
Requirements:
Anyone who enjoys spending time in our great otdoors.

Content:
- Calling emergency services, including Sat phones and CB use in an emergency
- Bites & stings – including snake bite management
- Burns management from camp fires and gas cookers
- Severe bleeding management – including use of improvised and purpose use tourniquets
- Collapse, fainting and common causes of collapse from medical conditions
- Sprains, strains & fracture management
- Environmental emergencies – exposure to extreme heat and cold & manage hypo and Hyperthermia
- Community – hands only CPR training
- Question & answer time
