Boating Safety Education Course

Anyone who operates a recreational vessel with an engine in South Australia, including a personal watercraft (PWC), is required to have a boat operator’s licence, even if the engine is not in use at the time. 
 

Community Pool Rescue Certificate – eLearning

The Community Pool Rescue Certificate is a flexible course that is offered by Surf Life Saving SA to members of the Community. The aim of the course is to provide participants with the knowledge of basic pool awareness and rescue skills.

Community Surf Rescue Certificate

The Community Surf Rescue Certificate is a flexible course that is offered by Surf Life Saving SA to members of the Community. The aim of the course is to provide participants with the knowledge of basic surf awareness and rescue skills. 

This is NOT suitable for Surf Lifesaving SA Members as they need a patrolling specific Surf Rescue Certificate.

HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

This 2-hour course has been designed for those who prefer to complete the CPR theory and assessment in a full face to face training and assessment session with no online components.

The CPR course delivers the essential principals‚ knowledge and skills to maintain breathing and circulation in emergency situations for adults, children and infants. Participants will learn vital lifesaving skills and the confidence and knowledge to maintain basic life support in a person who is in cardiac arrest until help arrives.

You could help save the life of a co-worker or someone close to you one day and become a real lifesaver.

HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a Nationally Accredited course.

HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation eLearning

This course has been designed for those who prefer to complete ‘self-paced’ CPR theory online (approximately 30-45 minutes), followed by a shorter face to face assessment session (1.5 hours). 

The CPR course delivers the essential principals‚ knowledge and skills to maintain breathing and circulation in emergency situations for adults, children and infants. Participants will learn vital lifesaving skills and the confidence and knowledge to maintain basic life support in a person who is in cardiac arrest until help arrives.

All CPR eLearning modules have been designed to cater for multiple learning styles. You can either read the body of text, watch videos, listen to voice overs or combine these learning styles.

HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support

This unit will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to recognise and respond to life-threatening emergencies‚ including managing the unconscious casualty‚ performing CPR‚ controlling bleeding and managing other life threatening situations. It is suitable to both people in workplaces and members of the public who want to be able to manage an emergency First Aid situation.

This unit will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to recognise and respond to life-threatening emergencies‚ including managing the unconscious casualty‚ performing CPR, controlling bleeding and managing other life threatening situations. It is suitable to both people in workplaces and members of the public who want to be able to manage an emergency First Aid situation.

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

This Provide First Aid course has been designed for those who prefer to complete the theory and assessment in a full day face to face training and assessment session with no online components.

The course aims to develop the knowledge and skills for a person to manage emergency first aid situations and deliver competent emergency care until the arrival of professional medical support.

Participants will be able to perform effective CPR techniques and manage a range of emergency situations that include:
 
  • Medical emergencies such as asthma, anaphylaxis and heart conditions
  • Trauma such as bleeding, fractures, sprains and strains, and more
 
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is a Nationally Accredited course and the certificate is valid for three (3) years from the completion date. (HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation CPR renewal required annually).

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid eLearning

This Provide First Aid course has been designed for those who prefer to complete ‘self-paced’ theory online (approximately 4 hours), followed by a shorter face-to-face training and assessment session (4 hours).

The course aims to develop the knowledge and skills for a person to manage emergency first aid situations and deliver competent emergency care until the arrival of professional medical support.

Participants will be able to perform effective CPR techniques and manage a range of emergency situations that include:

  • Medical emergencies such as asthma, anaphylaxis and heart conditions

HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting

Our Provide First Aid in an education and care setting course is specifically aimed at developing the knowledge and skills of educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to manage and respond to first aid emergencies with children. You will learn child-specific first aid management in a range of illnesses and injuries, including asthma, anaphylaxis, and resuscitation. 

This eLearning course includes ‘self-paced’ theory online (approximately 4 hours), followed by a shorter face to face training and assessment session (6 hours).

Mental Health First Aid

This course aims to develop the knowledge and skills for a person to recognise and respond to someone experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis, until professional help is received or the crisis resolves.

Participants will learn the skills to listen, connect, and offer support when it matters most.

Outback First Aid Information Session

The Outback First Aid is an information session only that will prepare participants to manage injuries and illness associated with outdoor activities. On completion of this awareness session participants will have the knowledge to render basic first aid in a range of common outdoor injuries, illnesses and emergencies.

Pool Operators Course

This course provides candidates with the skills and knowledge to safely contribute to the water treatment and plant operations of a pool or aquatic facility.  This course will focus on conducting pool water tests, record keeping, minor maintenance of plant / equipment, systems and procedures for the maintenance of quality pool water in an aquatic recreation facility.

SISSS00133 Pool Lifeguard

The SISSS00133 Pool Lifeguard Skill Set course consists of an online theory component and 2 days of face to face training and assessment.

This course has been designed to provide you with the necessary skills and knowledge to ensure once completed‚ you have high-level competencies and are “job-ready” to commence your career as a Pool Lifeguard.

You will receive comprehensive training in water rescues, emergency management, oxygen resuscitation, aquatic facility supervision and update your annual CPR requirements.

The SISSS00133 Pool Lifeguard Skill Set course consists of 2 days of face to face training and assessment.

This course has been designed to provide you with the necessary skills and knowledge to ensure once completed‚ you have high-level competencies and are “job-ready” to commence your career as a Pool Lifeguard.

UETDRMP007 Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to perform a rescue from live low voltage (LV) electrical apparatus in an electricity supply industry (ESI) environment. This does not include overhead lines and underground cables.

It includes the organisational workplace requirements for the inspection and use of live LV panel rescue equipment, and how it applies to ESI workers to meet work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS), mobility and mutual aid requirements.
