This unit will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to recognise and respond to life-threatening emergencies‚ including managing the unconscious casualty, performing CPR, controlling bleeding and managing other life threatening situations. It is suitable to both people in workplaces and members of the public who want to be able to manage an emergency first aid situation.

 

Introduction:

The unit applies to educators and support staff working within a primary aged education and care setting who are required to respond to a First aid emergency‚ including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies.

Target Audience:

Course candidates should be a minimum of 14 years old.

 

Learning Outcomes:

  • HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
  • HLTAID002 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
